This video arose out of discussion on AJ about how there werent any decent DK pvp videos out yet. There are several reasons I chose to put this together.
First, we play a deathknight/shaman comp, much harder to play than paladin/deathknight. In fact, I dont feel overpowered at all really when running this comp. At the very worst, playing with a shaman has improved my game tremendously by not having dispels, freedom, or a survivable healer.
Second, we are one of the best at it. When this video was filmed, we were the 3rd rated team in the US running this comp. There's not many other people who play this comp at a high level to film it.
Third, nobody else had the balls to post a video of their games. I will get trashed by pros for this video. Hell, Id probably trash it myself if it wasnt me. I'm still learning the class, and every strategy and tactic used in the video is one that was thought up by us. There may be better ways to do things, but this is just the way we do it. If youve found a better way, I ask you to leave constructive comments. I also ask that you create a similar video which others can learn your improvements from. Without a large pool of poeple posting decent videos, it's hard to spread knowledge, playstyles, and tricks. I thought I would become a sacrificial lamb for what I hope is the greater good.
What this video is not:
- A showcase of talent. I make several glaring mistakes in this film. So do some opponents. I would never have included these clips if I was trying to make myself look good. Take it with a grain of salt that this is my selection out of about twenty fights I had recorded. I tried to spread the comps out the best I could as well, but seeing as the best two fights I had were shaman/rogue, you will see us play that comp twice.
- A showcase of cheesy editing. I suck at it. If you want that, go watch a movie. This is arena WoW. If you are more distracted by pretty colors than good content, please dont download it, I dont care about what you think of it.
What this video is:
- A realistic depiction of some interesting games over the course of two nights against 2k+ teams. It also includes one of the top rogues of our bg and the highest ranked shaman on the SK-100. These are not some trash scrubs that we decided to farm while they were doing dailies. Some make mistakes in the games, but they are all good players in their own way.
And so it begins. I hope I can inspire you other deathknights to show off what you've learned in the three months since you created your character!.
